What is your purpose? What if I told you that the answer is love? Human connection and attachment give life meaning and joy. A relationship that is attuned and in-tune weathers the ebb and flow of life, with difficult times and happy times and even mundane times drawing couples closer. Many couples, however, struggle at some point over the course of the relationship. It’s scary and confusing when your relationship no longer offers support and connection. Some couples find themselves in negative patterns they can’t escape. Other couples find themselves grappling with emotional distance, distrust, and conflict. Still other couples worry that their once-healthy relationship has lost its magic – they feel that they have grown apart and worry that they can’t recapture their connection. No matter where your relationship stands today, there is hope! You can build or rebuild a fulfilling, loving, and joyful relationship. And I can help.
My approach: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is the most effective form of couples therapy. EFT focuses on building attachment and healing troublesome patterns of interaction. Couples who engage in EFT therapy find that their bond strengthens as they shed old ways of being and lean into deeper connection. The Gottman Method has decades of research to support its effectiveness in helping couples increase closeness, address conflict productively, and build a life of shared meaning. I have training in these and other approaches to therapy. Because your relationship is unique, I will draw upon modalities to best serve your relationship in all its goodness and complexity.
Logistics: I provide couples therapy in traditional 50 minutes sessions weekly or every other week, and also offer longer 80 minute sessions. Rate: $175 per 50 minute couple session; $250 per 80 minute couple session. I don't bill insurance or provide insurance receipts for couples therapy, as I will not be diagnosing either person with a mental health condition. Rather, we will prioritize working on the relationship.
I work with couples from diverse life experiences and identities, with specialized experience working with lesbian couples and those in addiction recovery.
All sessions are held via telehealth, with limited in-person availability in Ferndale, WA. You must be in the state of Washington at the time of all sessions.
I primarily see adult individuals, while maintaining limited availability for couples. Please inquire via email.
